Brandon Centeno reflection

Brandon Centeno reflection on the power points project

When I first started this class, I felt very scared and nervous at the same time. I have never been the type of person who feels comfortable speaking in front of people or giving speeches public speaking has always been something I struggled with, and because of that, I came into this class already feeling a little anxious. When the teacher announced that we would be assigned groups, I became even Mir nervous. I have worked with in teams before and I have learned leadership skills through different experiences, but when ur comes to school, I usually end up with group members who do not do their part or who do not communicate well. In the past, that has made group projects stressful for me. I worried that the same thing would happen again.

This is how I felt when I found out
we had groups

However, this time it was completely different being part of group 2 really changed my opinion about working with teams. I was able to step up and take on leadership, but what made the experience so positive was that my teammates also cared. They communicated, did their parts, and showed dedication to The project. It made everything run smoothly, and I never felt like I was doing all the work alone. This helped me not only enjoy the project but also Start to see teamwork in a more positive way. Public speaking class itself has also shown me the importance of speaking with confidence and structure. Through this project, I learned what it takes to prepare a good speech, how to organize ideas, and how to present information in a way that others can understand.

Now I want to reflect on how each group did during their presentation and what I personally thought about them. Each group had their own chapters to present, and each one brought something different to the class

Group1

In my opinion, group 1 did a really good job their presentation was organized and eassy to follow, which made it very enjoyable to watch. They seemed confident when they spoke, and it showed that they had prepared well. I could tell that they understood their chapters because they explained everything clearly. They also used their PowerPoint sides effectively. The slides were neat and well put together, which showed that the group had worked on both the content and the design. I really liked how their teamwork showed throughout the presentation. They spoke smoothly, and there was no confusion about who was doing what part. To me, but that showed they communicated well with each other while preparing

Group 2

Group 2 was the group I was part of, and for me it was a good experience. At first, I was nervous, but thanks to my team, everything went smoothly. We communicated with each other, shared ideas, and gave feedback when needed. Each person did their part, and we were able to put together a PowerPoint that was organized and clear. I think our presentation went well because we supported each other as a team. Being the leader of the group was not stressful at all because my teammates were dedicated and reliable. We divided the work fairly, and when it came time to present, I felt proud of what we had accomplished. I believe our presentation showed not only the information from our chapters but also our ability to work as a group.

Group 3

Group 3 also did a good job, even though at the beginning they seemed to struggle a little with giving information. But what I really admired was that they did not give up. They kept going, and as the presentation continued, they improved. That showed me that they had worked as a team and were determined to get through their chapters. I enjoyed their presentation because it showed effort and teamwork. Even though they may have started out a little nervous, they pushed through and were able to explain their chapters well. I also learned new information from their slides, which shows that even when a group struggles, they can still teach others something valuable.

Group 4

Group 4 was another strong group. Their presentation showed preparation and confidence. Each person had their own slides to present, and they spoke clearly when it was their turn. One thing I noticed is that they did not look nervous at all. They stayed calm and confident while talking, which made their presentation easy to follow. Their PowerPoint was also neat and organized. I appreciated that each member contributed equally, and it did not feel like one person was carrying the whole team. I learned a lot from their chapters too, and overall, I thought they did very well.

Overall Reflection

Looking back at all the presentations, I honestly do not think there was a single bad one. Each group showed teamwork, preparation, and effort. Everyone presented their chapters in their own way, but all of them demonstrated that they had learned from the project. This experience helped me see why group work can be so valuable. When everyone participates, communicates, and supports each other, the results can be amazing. It also helped me grow in terms of public speaking. Watching my classmates present gave me confidence because I realized that everyone feels nervous at some point, but with practice, we can all improve.

Another important thing I gained from this project is confidence in public speaking. Standing in front of the class was not as scary as I thought it would be. Because I knew my group was there supporting me, I felt calmer. Preparing the slides and practicing made me realize that public speaking is not about being perfect, but about being clear, organized, and confident.

In conclusion, I think this project was very beneficial for all of us. Group 1 showed great organization and confidence, Group 2 (my group) worked smoothly and supported each other, Group 3 showed determination and teamwork even when they struggled, and Group 4 presented calmly and clearly. Every group contributed something important to the class, and I believe we all grew as public speakers and as team members. Overall, this experience changed the way I see group work and public speaking, and I am grateful for what I learned

Brianna Taylor  When I first found out we were all given the task of presenting in front of our peers, I felt confident. To me, speaking in front of a group of classmates on Zoom would be a breeze, and this was material I had learned throughout my lifetime in literature classes. However, when it came to the day of the presentation and my moment to present grew closer, anxiety kicked in. As my counterpart concluded their part and my turn approached, I froze for a slight moment. As time outran the fear that consumed me, I found my thoughts racing faster than I could get the words to come out. All eyes were on me, and this was the moment of truth, whether the material that had followed me throughout all of my school years would hide behind my anxiety or flow. As much as I thought this would be an assignment I could easily come out on top of, it showed me otherwise. I didn’t expect to be reminded that it’s not about the words you say, but the skill set you equip yourself with in order ...

Carlos Barrios Blog Post Reflection Post Presentations Apart from my summer term classes over at UF, this was my first starting class over at a new institution. Honestly, I wasn't as nerved racked as I was when I first started my classes over at UF but was slightly anxious as to see the difference between the two. I'm not the best with presenting presentations so when I found out that I had to present, no surprise there its called public speaking, I was kind of worried at the fact that I would not be able to do it based on my past presentations I have done for my previous classes in high school when I was doing AP Seminar Capstone. Doing the final tests for the AP classes, I even had to restart one of the presentations because I chocked and forgot my line midway, good thing I was given a chance to restart though. Despite me previous experience with presenting, It wasn't all that bad surprisingly.                   ...

My Public Speaking Journey😊           When I first found out that our class was going to do group presentations on Zoom, I didn’t know how to feel. Part of me was relieved that it wasn’t in person -I didn’t have to stand in front of a room full of people. But at the same time, Zoom comes with its own challenges. Staring at a screen, knowing everyone is quietly watching, can feel just as nerve-wracking as being on stage. Plus, it’s harder to read the room online. When cameras are off, you can’t tell if people are paying attention or not. Going into I wasn’t sure what the experience would be like.    Once the presentations started, though, I was pleasantly surprised. The vibe felt supportive and friendly. Nobody was sitting there waiting for someone to mess up -it really felt like we were all in this together. That made me enjoy the process more than I expected. Even though public speaking makes me nervous, seeing my classmates present made ...
